Blogger Spotlight: Michelle from Sanoma Nail Art!
Today I am soo happy to be spotlighting Michelle from Sanoma Nail Art for you all! I need to gush for a minute: Michelle is definitely at the top of the list of my inspirational nail bloggers! She takes my two loves (nails and art) and combines them into some amazing works of art! I love polish in general, so I love nail art- but when I see someone take it to a new level I am simply amazed. I am only posting 3 pictures of her art here, so I am strongly encouraging you to go check out the rest on her blog!
Hi! For starters, can you tell us a little about yourself?
I work at a radio station in Sonoma County, California. I’m a wife and a step mom and I love driving my red scooter around town.
How long have you been into nail polish?
I’ve been doing nail art for about 2 years now. I initially purchased a nail art kit for my daughter but then stole it from her. Ha ha! She bites her nails anyway so I figure I’m putting it to better use.
What encouraged you begin blogging?
This past summer I discovered Robin Moses on the internet. Robin is an incredible nail artist. I watched a lot of her videos to try to mimic her style. Once I started using acrylic paint as she does my art took on a whole new level. I shared some nail art of her dog on Robin’s page and it took off from there.
What do you find most challenging about blogging about nail polish?
It can be hard to get a good picture of a manicure. Plus it’s also hard to show restraint when I want to buy every nail polish in the world!

Do you have any favorite brands? Techniques?
I really like China Glaze, Orly, OPI and Cult Nails. My technique is similar to Robin Moses’ style. I paint with nail polish first, then add my art with acrylic paints. You can get sooo much more detail with acrylic paint than with nail polish. Check out Robin Moses on YouTube for over 400 great videos. You will learn so much!
Okay, you know we want to know– what is your approximate stash count?
I’ve never counted officially, but I just counted how many I have in one box and multiplied that by the number of boxes I have, so about 180 to 200 polishes.

Do you have any advice for anyone new to polish and/or blogging?
Always give credit to those who inspired your nail art. If you remember seeing a manicure somewhere, but don’t remember who did it, mention in your post that you can’t remember who came up with the design but if any reader recognizes it, to please tell you. We all work hard on our art and deserve credit for our creations. It is flattering to see someone recreate your work, but a link and a shout out is always good form.
