Blogger Spotlight: Amber from Amber Did It!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Today I have a very special blogger for you all! This is Amber from Amber Did It! Amber does some AMAZING nail art, and I’m so excited to have been able to get her to be our special Christmas Blogger! She did some art specifically for the Spotlight, so I’m honored to be premiering them to you!

Let’s get started, I’m sure you’re all dying to see her work!

Hi! For starters, can you tell us a little about yourself?
Howdy!  My name is Amber and I’m from Shreveport, Louisiana.  I’ve been married for 11 years to my wonderful husband John, and we have two kiddos, Alyvia and Gavin.  I’ve been a stay at home mom since my oldest was born.  I love all things creative and crafty; sewing, painting, scrapbooking, card making, baking, cooking and of course Nail art!!!! ;)  I love to read, I’m a huge Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood fan and Twilight and Harry Potter too.

How long have you been into nail polish?
I’ve really only been into polish for about 6 months or so.  I am a recovering nail biter, about a year ago I just decided I was going to stop.  Once they got a certain length I found myself in the nail polish section a lot more.  My polish collection has really grown by leaps and bounds in just the last few months though ;)

What encouraged you begin blogging?
I actually started my blog in 2007 when I was real big into scrapbooking.  It was a blog about everything in my life.  I only posted sporadically until this year when I switched lanes to nail blogging.

What do you find most challenging about blogging about nail polish?
I really think the most challenging thing for me is just trying to make unique posts.  Trying to come up with ideas that haven’t been done or done very often.

Do you have any favorite brands? Techniques?
I am the self proclaimed Queen of the cheap polishes lol. I am a huge fan of Pure Ice, Wet and Wild, and Sally Hansen.  I typically don’t pay more than $5 for a bottle of polish, being a stay at home mom and being a one income family, I have to be a frugal polishaholic ;).  One of my favorite techniques to do is the splatter mani, those are so fun to do and they always look really cute.  I’m also a big lover of water marbling but I’m usually a huge failure at that.
Okay, you know we want to know– what is your approximate stash count?
At last count I had 104 and it’s growing constantly.

Do you have any advice for anyone new to polish and/or blogging?
Be yourself and above all else HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
